Goodbye deranged killer Santa who outraged parents in 1984. Hello guy who was once hypnotized by Michael Myers and now by robbing shotgun Santa created by someone who watched Bill Paxton’s Frailty a lot.

Easily the best in the entire gruesome Silent Night franchise, this remake uses the bones of the original 1980s story but adds many intriguing new elements. The result is an entertaining and even sometimes touching movie.

It was a promising beginning, somewhat reminiscent of Dexter. I truly appreciate the concept and hope to see a second installment. It's an entertaining film, perfect for the holidays. I particularly enjoy the blend of horror and Christmas themes.
