Wayne K @RT88290232 Sep 25 As part of a Bigfoot double bill I have coming up on my podcast, I sat down to watch Shriek Of The Mutilated, a film I had only heard bad things about. I can understand why people don’t like it, but I thought it was a lot of fun. Nobodies going to be calling it a new hidden classic or anything, and the acting, writing, cinematography, musical score and overall concept leave a lot to be desired, but if you’re able to overlook these technical foibles, the films itself has a certain B-movie appeal. There’s a level of intrigue and mystery surrounding the creature in the title, and the people’s different perspectives on it, as well as their intentions for it, make it hard to know exactly where the story is going to go. It ends on a textbook expositional speech, largely because the twist doesn’t really add up. However, the cheapness of the Yeti costume is, bizarrely, a spoiler in itself. If you can get past a lot of the nonsensical plot elements and story contrivances, it certainly won’t blow you away, but it’ll probably keep you interested for all 85-odd minutes of it.
