Take a bow, Honey Trehan, and Team Satluj; this is a clear win for filmmakers who want to tell the story of an actual person, time and place, with unwavering conviction. Go to Full Review

Diljit Dosanjh shines as a solitary lamp whose conviction outlasts the darkest night in this moving tribute to social activist Jaswant Singh Khalra, where director Honey Trehan examines the rhetoric around the dehumanisation of citizens Go to Full Review

An average Hindi film would be satisfied with one performance of such high calibre; Trehan’s film has six, at least. An average Hindi film would give its right arm for one or two memorable scenes; Satluj has a dozen. Go to Full Review

For a story like Satluj, this conventional structure works. It creates the necessary emotional momentum while allowing its actors ample room to shine, even though the story naturally belongs to Diljit, who more than justifies that responsibility. Go to Full Review

Ashequl I @Tofa13 5d Satluj (2026) is a towering, uncompromising biographical drama that stands as one of the most impactful political films of the year. Directed with sharp restraint by Honey Trehan, the movie chronicles the true story of human rights activist Jaswant Singh Khalra, who risked everything to expose systemic corruption and extrajudicial violence. Diljit Dosanjh delivers a career-best, deeply moving performance, imbuing Khalra with a quiet, heroic dignity. Supported by a phenomenal ensemble cast—including a chilling performance by Suvinder Vicky—the screenplay balances a slow-burn investigative thriller with devastating emotional weight. Unflinching, authentic, and masterfully crafted, Satluj is an essential, unforgettable watch. See more Ammo D @RT50646805 Jul 11 A thought provoking and mind numbing account of state sponsored violence within Punjab, North India by the government using the police as it's bidders to quash anyone willing to question the state. The film is very well made, with acting and directing from all parties at a top level. This is a much watch historical account of some of the most bloodiest history within the Sikh faith in the last 50 years. See more Ahmed R @RT93334132 Jul 10 Just the cruel truth and sadly, it feels like nothing has changed in these countries. I’m from Pakistan, and I believe the system is still the same on this side of Punjab too. They removed Jaswant Singh Khalra, and now they have removed this movie. It feels like another attempt to hide the truth. This film is highly recommended for everyone, especially anyone who has a connection with Punjab. It will feel even more meaningful and powerful to them. See more Andy D @RT33059424 Jul 9 Must see - dark yet true story of injustice faced by Sikhs/Punjabis and courage shown by unsung hero activist- Jaswant Singh Khalra, who stood as a True Sikh, to seek justice for those who were slaughtered and suppressed by the administration knowing well the repercussions and making the ultimate sacrifice. Diljit Dosanjh does justice to his role and delivers a great heartfelt performance that is not to be missed. #Sikhlifematters See more Jasroop K @RT36120116 Jul 9 It is true and painful story of people of Punjab, who have faced this genocide head on. To those who have banned this movie are afraid of truth being out in public, the government the punjab police, KPS Gill are some of the many responsible for illegal and extrajudicial killings of thousands of Punjab’s youth. This movie is a true representation of the pain and endurance of people of Punjab, upon whom these crimes of humanity were committed. Make sure to watch and rate the movie, spread awareness, don’t let this ban stop the truth from shining in light of justice. Hats off to the makers, producers, actors and all the individuals involved in producing this film and making efforts for it to reach audiences across the world. You guys were phenomenal. JASWANT SINGH KHALRA was a humanitarian who fought for those who didn’t have anyone to fight for them. Let us all remember his vision and support his legacy!
