Hong Kong policeman Keung (Jackie Chan) arrives in New York for the wedding of his uncle Bill (Bill Tung), a grocer who recently sold his Bronx store to the fetching Elaine (Anita Mui). After a biker gang bursts into the store to wreak havoc, Keung springs into action, giving up his vacation to defend the weak and protect the innocent with his extraordinary martial arts skills. As Keung investigates local gangs, he learns more about a criminal syndicate that needs to be brought to justice.

Watching Jackie Chan in full command of his craft is pure joy. In Rumble in the Bronx, every fight feels like a perfectly choreographed dance; it's like watching a musical without the music, built entirely around his rhythm, grace, and sense of play.

Let me state now, Rumble is a great movie and the Bronx never looked better. It also contains some of the best scenes of a hovercraft rampaging in city traffic ever filmed.

super funny, cheesy, violent, and action packed! amazing work from stunt choreographer jackie chan, he really outdid himself. the only minus is the voice overs are terrible. it does add to the humour at times so its not that bad

¡Qué película más divertida! “Rumble in the Bronx” tiene todos los clichés de los 90, un protagonista de corazón puro, los villanos más estereotípicos del cine, un interés amoroso y un conflicto lleno de acción del cual es muy fácil seguir el hilo, por no decir que la misma historia no importa mucho. Pero lo que hace genial a esta película es Jackie Chan y todos los dobles de riesgo. Cada escena de acción es en verdad impresionante, a casi 30 años de su estreno, esta película sigue funcionando porque solo ha habido un Jackie Chan. La escena de la tienda, la escena de las botellas, la del estacionamiento y, sobre todo, la pelea climática contra la pandilla, son en serio perfectas. Tienen un dinamismo espectacular y una coreografía divertidísima al igual que hipnótica. Al menos a mí, en su hora y media de duración, no pude quitarle los ojos de encima. Amo esta “invasión” del cine asiático-americano, porque lejos de ser películas totalmente volcadas al entretenimiento, sin grandes pretensiones, su dedicación a que cada golpe fuese lo más realista posible fue lo que hizo que esta vertiente del cine tenga hasta hoy un lugar tan especial en gran parte de las personas que, ya sea en los 90 o en años posteriores, crecieron viendo estas películas. Esta película se volvió una carta de amor involuntaria a los 90, llena de personalidad y poca lógica, vestuarios innecesariamente coloridos, y sobre todo, una historia llena de corazón. Sé que hoy en día, tal vez Jackie Chan no sea la mega estrella que llegó a ser, y hasta a algunos no les gusten sus películas. Pero algo que es innegable es la dedicación que él ha puesto en cada una de ellas. Este hombre literalmente dejaba la piel en cada escena, y el resultado es inmejorable.

It's cute to see Jackie Chan doing what he does best so early in his career. His talent for mind-blowing stunts and comic dialogue delivery were his golden tickets to a boisterous career in Hollywood.
