Jonathan (Chris Klein) is the most popular player in the fastest and most extreme sport of all time: rollerball. Rollerball, what a joke. Jean Reno is like 45 years old in this movie and he thinking, he can do parkour with roller blades. LL Cool J only carried this film and OG LL Cool J had so much swag. But, this movie is weird, because this movie is directed by 50 year old John McTerinan, the man that made Predator and Robocop. This is easily his worst film. Overall, I will give Rollerball a 3/10 or a 2.3/5 stars.

While the 2002 remake of Rollerball is widely considered a cinematic misfire, I have to admit I used to like this, despite its reputation; however, looking back, I think I was just the right demographic for the time, because boy oh boy is this corny! Between the aggressive nu-metal soundtrack, the incoherent "night vision" action sequences, and the bafflingly high-stakes editing, the film feels like a relic of a very specific turn-of-the-century aesthetic that hasn't aged particularly well. It’s certainly not great by any objective standard, but I still have some nostalgic fun with it.

I liked the original from 1975, so I thought I would have a look at this 'remake'. It's got an interesting cast and John McTiernan directed 'Die Hard' so it can't be that bad can it? Yes it can..

The dystopian future is bleak. Jean Reno is wonderful, Rebecca Romjin is stunning. LL Cool J tries to save the movie with his personal brand of coolness.
