Upon receiving reports of missing persons at Fort Spencer, a remote Army outpost on the Western frontier, Capt. John Boyd (Guy Pearce) investigates. After arriving at his new post, Boyd and his regiment aid a wounded frontiersman, F.W. Colghoun (Robert Carlyle), who recounts a horrifying tale of a wagon train murdered by its supposed guide -- a vicious U.S. Army colonel gone rogue. Fearing the worst, the regiment heads out into the wilderness to verify Colghoun's gruesome claims.

Nav S @Nav_Sarao 5d Haha what a film. 58% from the critics, that's at least 32% too low. Another great example of why you can't trust wokey woke critics ! I loved every minute of it. There are so many different layers to the film and it is such a unique ride. You kind of predict what is going to happen and you are never completely right. When you add in the banging soundtrack it completes one of the best horror movies you will ever see. Damon Albarn can certainly make a tune. Watch it. Do it now. This film is more than satire and has many elements that add to the ambiance, plot and characters. Female director with only one female character that understands that all the men are crazy. Group of war rejects put in one camp together. What could go wrong? Soundtrack is stellar and adds to the creep value. If you like horror period pieces and men lusting over human flesh then you will love this film. And it's not even a hidden metaphor, it's HIGHLIGHTED in the dialog; e.g., Ives says, "Manifest Destiny. You know, come April, thousands of gold-hungry Americans will over those mountains, on their way to new lives, passing right through... here." And, it's a great movie - the pace is perfect, the music is incredible, and the metaphor is spot on.
