Long before meeting Shrek, Puss in Boots, just named a hero for saving a woman from a charging bull, is run out of town on suspicion of bank robbery, even though the real villain is Puss' friend, Humpty Dumpty. Though there is still animosity between them, Puss and Humpty reunite to steal a goose that lays golden eggs. Joining them for the adventure of nine lifetimes is notorious cat burglar, Kitty Softpaws.

Puss in Boots kind of surprised me. Far more witty then I expected it to be, nicely animated and featuring a charming story of forgiveness and redemption that belies its Shrek inspired fractured fairy tale roots, this movie more than won me over.

What kids will get from it is plenty of fairly outrageous but not often witty fun with fairytale elements blended into a kind of latterday spaghetti western. For the rest of us, there is plenty of nice visual detail.

Laugh-out-loud funny and beautiful to look at, this is first-rate animation. Charming throughout, with excellent voice acting, especially Antonio Banderas, who was perfect as Puss. This was our third viewing, and it hasn’t lost any of its charm.

Brilliant! Another DreamWorks masterpiece and very well directed by Chris Miller. Cleverly written. Amazing graphic appeal. Stellar cast all excels in voicing their characters. Filled with lots of fast paced action, mystery, magic, enchantment, emotion, adventure, drama, intrigue and tons of charm. Very entertaining and captivating
