I know that it is based on a true story, but having not known the story, it has been a long time since I’ve seen a movie like this completely without any semblance of a happy ending. That being said, I thoroughly enjoyed many parts of this movie. Pretty much every time we were shown the crew I was invested and liked the movie, and the only piece of it I didn’t was the seemingly forced hatred between the two shipmates early on. Otherwise, I definitely liked the beginning of the movie and thought that they definitely established connections between the audience and most members of the crew. The main detraction, if I had to pick one, would be the cuts to the seemingly unrelated Coast Guard missions happening at the same time. They didn’t seem very necessary and kept distracting from the main plot. All in all though, I think this was a good movie, not great, but worth another watch in the future. Enjoyable watch, casting is strong with an insite into what a fisherman life can be like, would be a 4 star had it not for some parts being for me abit rough and tumble, would recommend as I've seen it twice also nice to see George Clooney in a different environment.
