When God decides that mankind has become too sinful and must be wiped off the Earth, he chooses Noah (Russell Crowe), a pious man, for a great task. Noah must build an ark large enough to hold his wife (Jennifer Connelly), adopted daughter (Emma Watson), sons (Logan Lerman, Douglas Booth, Leo McHugh Carroll) and their wives -- plus breeding pairs of every animal. When the task is completed, Noah and his family witness God's wrath in the form of an apocalyptic flood.

It's as odd and schizophrenic a picture as you're likely to see in the focus-grouped, play-it-safe moviemaking climate of the moment, and the fact that it exists at all is sort of a (ha ha) miracle.

The film questions a creator’s obligations at earthly and spiritual levels, with complications that concern masculine privilege to color the margins. "Noah" doesn’t preach to the choir. It dares the choir to keep up amid minor chords & melodic inversion.

How did this ridiculous story ever come up with the title "Noah"?! Completely full of lies. Does not align with the true Biblical account. What would happen if you took another sacred writing from any other religion or belief system and butchered their stories? Just wondering. The silent majority are getting pretty sick and tired of the many attacks on the Christian faith.

I was a bit disturbed with this interpretation when I first saw it but can appreciate the artist license to entertain. Emma Watson and Jennifer Connelly are beautiful here and although way off course from the Bible, it still provides an epic movie experience.

The back story is awful!! According to the Book of Enoch (Noah's Great Grandfather), "The Watchers were", yes, Fallen Angels, but they procreated with the Daughters of Men. How is a rock giant going to do that?! Also, we don't know how civilizations and rock-walled cities/giants were present before Adam and Eve were cast out of the garden. Seems odd they procreated and has that seed spend enough time to, build cities, farms, temples, and defensive structures... during the hinter-gatherer time period. Stupid. This movie portrays The Watchers in a predictable fashion, and it was bad.

as a fantasy movie i guess it was ok, but MY GOD it resembles the facts not at all. poetic licence is fine i giess but if u gonna tell a biblical story then tell it... not just use the framework to make a terrible parody!!
