Boston residents nurse Erin Castleton (Hope Davis) and marine biology student Alan Monteiro (Alan Gelfant) don't know each other, but they share a frustration: their romantic lives. Having split with boyfriend Sean, Erin is unwillingly back on the market thanks to her mother, who places a singles ad in Erin's name. Some of the American cities are great "story towns." Boston has been on the list for over 150 years. "Next Stop Wonderland" is a movie about modern Boston and it's a nice introduction to the city's middle-income and student cultures. If you're thinking about graduate studies, or, maybe, a career in the Boston area, take a look.

In the world of romantic comedies, I see this as right up there with When Harry Met Sally. The story is witty, charming and modern, and the acting is first rate, I am amazed that this film didn't launch Hope Davis into another strata of stardom!

A really underrated romcom. Intelligently written we follow Erin as she slowly emerges from the depression associated with the loss of her father while exposing the idiocy of the dating scene to finally fall headlong into the arms of a true heart. Wonderfully done.
