A good watch this, unlike dross like 'Ill Manors' it feels like a decent depiction of modern inner city life. A nice touch having Sagid Taghmaoui in it, playing a character called Said, presumably as a nod to the imperious 'La Haine'. The plot loses direction a little in the final third, but overall you're left feeling this is a fresh new directing voice and overall it's a solid debut effort.

A potent film with important insights about humanity. So, so much more than just a gangster film. Sally El Hosaini came to my college and had a Q & A in one of my classes. She was an inspiration, so down to earth and extremely passionate.

British History X. Seriously, it has the exact same plot but with accents so strong that you need subtitles to understand what the characters say. It loses points for originality, but its a very well acted and directed film.
