In the desert near Los Angeles, a beautiful woman named Allison Pond (Jennifer Connelly) is found murdered. A special investigative unit led by hard-edged detective Max Hoover (Nick Nolte) is brought in when it looks like the victim may have ties to a secret military program. But Hoover has his own secret: Unbeknown to his adoring wife (Melanie Griffith), Allison is his ex-mistress, and her friend Jimmy Fields (Andrew McCarthy) has secretly filmed pornographic evidence of their affair.

For all the scandal, Mulholland Falls lacks grit. Nolte and Griffith aren't really believable as a struggling couple.

Filme fraco, o roteiro é fraco, as cenas são fracas, a história é fraca, o elenco é fraco, e ninguém ajuda a melhorar o filme, os personagens são fracos, e o filme deveria ter cenas bem melhores e relevantes, para fazer o filme ser bom

Finally I had the opportunity to watch the film, because I am a neo-noir films guy and honestly I am left with good impressions for the film compared to the given opinions of the others. The conception of the film is amazing but I won’t spoiler it for those that didn’t still watched it. The acting on other hand is also very well performed by the actors and of course Chazz Palminteri - one of my favourite “mafia” actors - “A Bronx Tale” has an astonishing performance and yet at the end… So to resume this the film is “must watch films” and overall it is a good movie with great story, great acting and great ending (somewhat…)!

This is a well chewed but hard to swallow noir pastiche starring Jennifer Connelly's breasts and a thoroughly unlikeable and wooden Nick Nolte. Don't waste your time on this paint by numbers wanna be. Any Humphrey Bogart movie will kick this to the curb.
