The main character was great love the actor did a great job fighting the rage you could feel it and you definitely route for him to succeed in his journey. Interesting conclusion but closes the storyline. Great 1 and done movie. I wish they left it more open for a sequel but nothing some creative writing can't work around. I give it 5 because entertaining good enough story, a great build up and even though not the best of ending i was very entertained. Became an immediate fan when Steven starred on Walking Dead. That being said I enjoyed this run of the mill virus movie... I'm glad they didn't make it a full blown zombie movie which allowed them to stay human but jacked up nevertheless. Good action, good revenge and of course Samara looks good as usual. She has the anti-caucasian gene because she looks the same in this 2017 movie as she does today in 2026! Watching an office community collapse during a rage-virus outbreak feels fresh, turning the everyday battlefield of corporate culture into absolute carnage where surprisingly similar rules still apply. It’s Falling Down contained within a quarantined high-rise. Steven Yeun is great taking revenge for everything done to him in Walking Dead, though he’s not a 100% perfect fit - his naturally sweet demeanor makes it hard for him to look truly vicious when he gets angry. On the other hand, Samara Weaving is fantastic; she starts slightly out of place but quickly locks in and completely owns her role. Supported by a wonderfully unhinged cast playing equally crazy characters, Mayhem delivers top-tier entertainment from start to finish. Samara Weaving absolutely owns this thing, kicking ass, taking names, and looking like she’s having the time of her life while the entire building descends into beautifully violent chaos. She gives the movie its heartbeat and is smart, furious, funny, and just unhinged enough to make every moment feel dangerous. The genius of Mayhem is that it understands rage. Not the dramatic, slow-motion movie rage, but the everyday frustration of being trapped in a system designed to make people miserable.
