In MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE, Director Travis Knight brings the legendary franchise back to the big screen in this epic live-action adventure. After being separated for 15 years, the Sword of Power leads Prince Adam (Nicholas Galitzine) back to Eternia where he discovers his home shattered under the fiendish rule of Skeletor (Jared Leto). I enjoyed the heck out of it. Very fun, doesnt take itself too seriously but isnt over the top campy either. Just a good fun movie, with plenty of 80s nostalgia feel.

Cheessssssy… in all the right ways. It felt like a kid smashing action figures together in the backyard and somehow turned out to be exactly what I wanted. The movie knows it was born from an ‘80s toy line, leans heavily into the original cartoon lore, and never apologizes for what it is. The fight scenes are fantastic, and Jared Leto’s Skeletor is flawless. The whole thing is drenched in unapologetic ’80s energy… clearly made for men over 40 and boys under 20. Nostalgia is a hell of a drug. I had a blast.
