If ever a man seems lost in time, it would be Johnny Twennies (Gibson Frazier), a newspaper writer who talks, walks and fights like he stepped out of the Jazz Age. Johnny wears a fedora, swing-dances for wholly non-ironic reasons, and can't seem to wrap his mind around concepts like "cable television." But when a pack of thugs threatens his life unless he plants a fake news story, Johnny proves he's got plenty of moxie -- and that some ideas, like chivalry and justice, never go out of style.

This movie really worked for me, a clever concept and they did a lot with it. It call hinged on the unknown gibson frazier and he pulls it off.

Give it credit for what i think is a good production value. I just love a movie that does not take itself to serious but does not become a naked gun or scary movie 3 and 4. Its also nice to know you can make a movie enjoyable with basically one good idea and a great ending.

Fun, fun light-hearted indie comedy. The main character seems to belong in a film from the 20s-30s while living in Manhattan in 1999, which kind of confuses the locals. His dialog and mannerisms are spot on - They nailed it. Great cast, especially the lead. Some fun cameos, too. I couldn't stop smiling.

I've wasted an hour and a half in worse ways, but the best part of this movie is the music that plays over the closing credits. The rest was just charming camp reminiscent of the old Batman TV series starring Adam West. As I recall, Frank Gorshin was in that also. Coincidence?
