Someone will make a film that will give Madhuri, ripe for a role in which she can play to her strengths, her due. Sadly, Maa Behen is not that film. Go to Full Review

With tighter writing and greater narrative clarity, Maa Behen could have been a truly memorable feminist thriller. As it stands, it remains an earnest, entertaining and well-acted effort that falls short of its considerable potential. Go to Full Review

Shivali S @RT84574008 22h The writing could have been better for sure , but I would still recommend this movie because movies made on such topics should be encouraged and watched by people . See more Sukh S @RT58299842 23h Maa Behen is the kind of film that reminds you why streaming platforms still matter: it takes risks, trusts its women characters, and refuses to dilute its voice for comfort or consensus. From the opening scenes, the film throws us into a world where judgement, hypocrisy and patriarchy are everyday wallpaper, and then gleefully tears that wallpaper down layer by layer. For me, that fearless tonal choice alone makes it stand out and makes the viewing experience both entertaining and thought provoking. It is not content with simply telling a story. Instead, it wants to interrogate the world that story comes from. Madhuri Dixit is in top form here, playing against the more polished, conventional versions of herself that we have so often seen on screen. She embraces the chaos, contradictions and rough edges of her character, and that makes the performance deeply satisfying. She is funny, vulnerable, exasperating and quietly heartbreaking, often in the same scene. See more Read all reviews
