In a future society, time-travel exists, but it's only available to those with the means to pay for it on the black market. When the mob wants to eliminate someone, it sends the target into the past, where a hit man known as a looper lies in wait to finish the job. Joe (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) is one such hired gun, and he does his job well -- until the day his bosses decide to "close the loop" and send Joe's future self (Bruce Willis) back in time to be killed.

I found myself dreaming of the days when Willis would take a rest from Die Hard-ing to do character cameos of unexpected depth and pathos: Pulp Fiction, Nobody's Fool, and a few others. Now he clings to stoic longevity, and shoots people.

Just watched Looper for the first time after finding a DVD at Goodwill - I’d always heard it was a smart and well made sci-fi/action movie and it did not disappoint. JGL is fantastic in the movie and I was wondering about his face and how it looked different in the movie than what I recall him looking like - well done on the minimal prosthetics to make him resemble a younger Bruce Willis more. Was curious about the vehicles and the attachments on the gas tanks though and they were never explained - I am sure some futuristic modification for combustion engines. Overall, very good movie - with a great ending. So sad that Bruce Willis is done acting and in the bad health condition currently. I loved him in 12 Monkeys and this was a similar themed role.

Any sci-fi / thriller lover will enjoy this movie very much, not sure how it has slipped out of my radar for so 13 years, one of the best time-travel movies, very smart, and unique story!

When writing a story that involves time travel, obviously the timeline isn't going to make the most sense, but while lacking in that area, the film delivers extremely emotional and thought provoking scenes, making it a must see from the genre. 8/10
