Her performance carried this title to be an enjoyable watch, despite an ending that left something to be desired. And like chef Didier says, it’s not about how you start it’s about how you finish. This movie makes you realize that life itself is the price, and that we shouldn’t allow simply surviving to get in the way of truly living to our fullest potential. It’s honestly surreal how underrated this movie is. Queen Latifah gave an outstanding performance that made the story feel even more powerful and heartfelt. Sometimes, we need a reminder that we’re not just here to survive—we’re here to live. My favorite part is when she’s telling herself in the mirror that in the next live she will LIVE right ALWAYS. The lead performance carries much of the movie, bringing warmth and sincerity that keeps the story engaging even when parts of the plot become predictable. The humor is simple but effective enough to keep things moving. Visually, the movie looks great, especially during its hotel and travel scenes, which give it a comfortable feel throughout. The pacing can be uneven at times, but the uplifting tone helps balance out some of the weaker moments. Overall, it’s a decent remake that may not surpass the original classic, but still stands on its own as a feel-good drama-comedy with heart. Not perfect, but enjoyable enough for a 6/10.
