Let me tell you this: this movie is POV children. Meaning, it’s POV innocence. If you want to see some true horror, watch other movies. The true power of “La Rafle” is the fact that this is depicted through the eyes of children, children strong enough to take their lives and destiny’s into their own hands. AMAZING movie, GREAT cast. The film is based on the memories of a man who escapes from the camp as a child and survives. The subject of the film is not a new subject, but the film's look at this historical fact is the strength of the film. The film deals with children at that time. And in this sense, it is original. But the weak point of the film is that the director treats this issue emotionally and the film cannot meet the expectations due to its cinematic structure. In fact, the emotionalism of the film limits the cinematic structure, and this has made the melodrama format the best option for the film. So many child actors and all so well done! So much emoting in this film and every character, every actor takes us to the heart of humanity. Really well done.
