Jack F @MovieFan111 Nov 28 IMPORTANT: Do not watch this movie. It's long and boring, and I don't care if Liam Neeson is in it. This movie is iconic for one reason, and that's a glaive. So, if you can associate a glaive with this movie, then your cultured. You're good to go. But please, don't feel the urge to watch it. I wanted that time back. Side note, the title rhymes with the word "dull"-- with is also what it is. See more Hughe J @Hughe Oct 4 Krull was released in theatres in 1983 and is a science fiction / fantasy movie. It stars Ken Marshall in the title role as Prince Colwyn whose world is invaded by the Slayers, and they also kidnap his fiancé. To fight these monsters Colwyn does the old "putting the team back together" trope and scours the countryside for various members like a cyclops, wizard and so forth. He also has the Glaive which is this five bladed throwing weapon that honestly is pretty cool. The team eventually fight it's way to the Slayer's castle to confront the big bad, "The Beast". During the fight the Glaive gets stuck in the Beast so the couple gets married which gives them fire magic or something and they kill the baddie. Krull is the epitome of "it's so bad it's good". This movie was arguably awful but I've seen it a bunch of times and I still chuckle. The acting is subpar, the CGI for the time was ok, the set pieces were acceptable, but the plot was just not good. Still, for me at least, it's a dumb but fun movie and worth a watch. This fantasy/sci-fi passion project oozes of ambition. The sets are plentiful and look great, and the wardrobe and VFX is everything you'd hope for. It's just so sad that nobody bothered with the writing. A much too unoriginal and unrefined script drags Krull down in its own quicksand. See more Jason W Aug 10 The problem with Krull is that the movie is that the movie is tedious and very boring to watch. The story of Krull is the legend of King Arthur smashed together with Star Wars. The movie sets are very well produced and that's about it. The choreography of the action sequences are very sloppy making the Slayers very clumsy and not very menacing at all. In the end movie that is plain outright boring. See more ryan b Jul 2 Not sure why the ratings are so low, it's a fun adventure movie that is a mix a fantasy and sci-fi. You have a pretty good cast, 80s special effects and sets which of course give it a personality of it's own. It's a fun watch, family friendly and a very young Liam Nelson lol.
