Christian R @RT90248046 1d 6.1/10 The movie's lack of contribution to an overarching story arc/thin storyline, annoying and at times unlikeable characters, and more stilted animatronic work makes this one the weakest of the series in my opinion. With that said, It's still fun and it's one of the more easily accessible/quicker in pace Jurassic movies. Sam Neil is also a win. RIP Sam Neil See more Chris S @Janomi Jul 20 Jurassic Park III has a few things to appreciate, especially Sam Neill’s return as Alan Grant. Neill brings credibility, frustration, and dry humor to a sequel that is much lighter and thinner than the first two films. Grant remains one of the franchise’s best human characters. The Spinosaurus gives the movie a different dinosaur threat, and the aviary sequence is easily the best set piece. The fog, cage-like setting, pteranodon attacks, and feeling of being trapped give the film a real burst of suspense. The short runtime also keeps things moving from one dinosaur encounter to the next. The problem is that the story feels underwritten. The plot is basically a rescue mission with survival momentum but little depth. William H. Macy and Téa Leoni are talented, but the Kirby parents can be irritating, and the movie feels small for a Jurassic entry. It has some fun moments, but not enough grandeur or weight.
