Henry D @Henry_Domke 2 days ago It was a dud. We stayed with it for over an hour, but finally bailed out. We probably would have quit much sooner if it hadn't been set in France. Eva Melander was very good at playing an utterly ordinary middle-aged woman, but the character was so dull that I had no interest in spending two hours with her. The humor didn't work for us, and there was no subtlety. There was plenty of absurdity and endless sexual and gay references, but none of it was funny or interesting. I felt that this film was overly long and a curious admixture of uninteresting-interesting: a lot of second screen time on this one. The production values and ‘look’ are fine, good. While I am CIS-het male, I was engaged with Agneta and with Einar. And yet… I kept imagining being neighbours with him and I cringed. I did enjoy the scene where Agneta is imagining and describing Einar’s house back-in-the-day. Other scenes were Kmart. Rewatch? No. Recommend? No. 5/10.
