Part Muslim apologetics (striking a woman doesn't *really* mean striking a woman. Jihad isn't nearly as frightening as it sounds... stuff like that), Part overused and predictable immigrant tropes, part white people stereotypes, part mediocre acting, and what do you get? Meh. For a better treatment of the theme watch Under the Shadow or Four Lions.
