When a vicious storm breaks out in the Nevada desert, 10 people seek refuge in an isolated motel. At the same time, a serial killer under the care of psychiatrist Doctor Mallick -- who has just found the killer's revealing journal -- awaits execution for murdering a group of motel guests. When the storm-stranded travelers realize they are being killed off one by one, limo driver Ed Dakota bids to stay alive and reveal the murderer's identity.

In fact, when the third act trickery comes on strong, it's Cusack who's given the responsibility of selling it to the audience. That he does this isn't really a surprise, that he makes it so profoundly affecting is.

Identity was one of those mind-blowing thrillers that I wanted to show everyone after I first watched it in college. Years later, I still think it’s an enjoyable thriller, but the reveal at the end isn’t as much thrilling as it is convenient. That being said, there are still moments of this movie that give me the chills, and the whole cast seems to be working as one to give us a good watching experience. John Cusack is an excellent everyman protagonist, which makes you trust him almost the moment he steps onto the screen. If you haven’t discovered Identity yet, you should meet the man that isn’t there.

This is a ONE TIME watch only. But that first time? Wow. Cusacks greatest role and acting performance of his career. The twist in this movie you never see coming. Along with trying to figure out what the hell is going on, the ending hit like a brick. Very under rated. Well worth the watch.
