See more Prophet R 3 days ago Ice Cream Man is exactly the kind of movie where you know pretty early what you're getting: a ridiculous premise, some creative kills, plenty of gore, and not much underneath it. I'll give it credit for embracing how stupid the concept is instead of pretending it's something deeper. Some of the kills are genuinely fun, and when the movie leans into the absurdity of murderous ice cream, it's entertaining. The problem is that the gimmick is stronger than the story. After a while, the shock value starts doing most of the heavy lifting, and there isn't enough character or suspense behind it to make the movie memorable once the novelty wears off. I didn't hate it. I actually had some fun with it. But there's a difference between being entertained for a couple hours and watching a genuinely good movie. Sweet concept. Messy execution. A few cool kills.
