I could have watched several more hours of it, which is something I could essentially achieve by watching Downton Abbey, but I feel much more engaged in Altman’s care.

I don't think I've ever seen the British class system of the 1930s so artfully dissected. It's all the more remarkable when you consider that Altman is a 76-year-old American -- albeit a Southern gent. A huge, huge treat.

So many fine actors doing such fine acting. The dialogue was witty, and the story had lots of clever twists. It was a beautiful print, and the film is extremely well crafted in every respect, from the costumes and sets to the editing and music. This was our third viewing, so some of it was familiar, but that didn’t detract at all.

Man this movie was long.. it was very hard to keep track of the characters.. I can see how some people who are into dramas and complex relationship dynamics would be into this movie, but damn I was pretty bored
