After his mother is killed, Tod the fox (Mickey Rooney) is taken in by the kindly Widow Tweed (Jeanette Nolan). He soon befriends the neighbor's new hound dog, Copper (Kurt Russell). The two are inseparable, but their friendship is hampered by their masters and by the fact that they are, by nature, enemies. They grow apart as they grow older; Copper has become a strong hunting dog and Tod a wild fox. The pair must overcome their inherent differences in order to salvage their friendship.

Sometimes, all you need to make a movie is two characters from opposing backgrounds forming an unlikely bond. It’s not enough to make a great Disney movie, but it still gets the job done.

oh i love this movie so much!! following the story of 2 animals who weren’t allowed to play together due to their different backgrounds is such a beautiful story and WILL LEAVE YOU IN TEARS!! this is and always has been my favorite disney movie. you will love this!! please watch it, you won’t regret it in the slightest!

Oh, what can I say other than I love this movie! The voices were great all around from The Owl Big Mama to Amos Slade The Redneck Hunter I loved all the voices of each and every character. The scene when Tod was first found as a baby fox and was taken in by Widow Tweed was actually quite a heartwarming scene. Tod & Copper as kids was quite cute. It put a smile on my face during that scene. I remember seeing it as a kid and watched it less than a hour ago. Tod has to be my favourite character in the movie. When Widow Tweed had to drop Tod in the forest because of Amos threatening to kill him was tear-jerking. You could tell she didn’t want to, but had to. Then the scene with Copper fighting the bear and Tod saving him shows how true friendship never ends between really good friends. A great movie whether you’re a kid or an adult. If you’re a Disney fan it’s an absolute must watch.

Synopsis
