Mega City One is a vast, violent metropolis where felons rule the streets. The only law lies with cops called "judges," who act as judge, jury and executioner, and Dredd (Karl Urban) is one of the city's most feared. One day, Dredd is partnered with Cassandra (Olivia Thirlby), a rookie with powerful psychic abilities. A report of a terrible crime sends Dredd and Cassandra to a dangerous area controlled by Ma-Ma (Lena Headey), a drug lord who will stop at nothing to protect her empire.

…while Dredd does a lot of things right, notably using the same central idea from The Raid and setting almost the entire film in a huge tower-block full of adversaries, it’s also somewhat dramatically deficient….

It was boring and a bit corny at times. Perhaps I dont have a full appreciate for this video game made movie but for it to be action sci-Fi it was not giving excitement or intrigue. Would not recommend.

A very enjoyable adaptation of our favorite judge. Of course Dredd wasn't locked in with the bad guy's..... idiot's locked themselves in with him 😂

Superb acting/performances, excellent plot, great effects (especialy the slo-mo ones), solid work in getting us into Dredd's world (e.g. helmet never comes off, although they could have done better in some other aspects). I was a fan of the comic, so it has easily become one of my favorite sci-fi movies. Hugely underrated, due to its crash in the box office, a result of bad marketing, timing & in general release. Mind you: it's brutal (r-rated) and gruesome. Exactly the world it's trying to portrait
