By the end, the film not only makes you cherish friendships, but allows you to realise a deep gratitude for teachers, who in spite of all of their strictness, have the highest hopes for every single student who may cross their path.

This movie is the reason why I started getting interested in and actually loving movies. I hardly ever experienced a movie before, that is as emotionally moving as this one. It really represents the struggle of a teenager constantly shifting between their childish ways, such as messing around with their friends and sneaking out and the hard truth of facing adulthood, which you can see in Neil's struggle choosing between what he wants from life and what his parents have planned out for him. It also portrays how different every person experiences their life, each with their own struggles and worries. It's the one movie I'd want to recommend people the most. It really was the birth of my love for movies. No matter how many times I watch it, it never fails to impress me and change my perspective on how I see life and how important it is to go with what you love and cherish.
