It was a bit slow without much excitement except for the action scenes near the end. There wasn't anyone I found myself rooting for. Bolstered by strong performances from a mostly unknown cast and some stirring battle sequences, most notably the final push to liberate Alsace, Days of Glory is a powerful war film that brings attention to flagrant racism that existed within the ranks as Muslim soldiers, beyond being considered expendable in the war effort, are refused leave, provided with limited rations, and, many years later, denied their war pensions. It's even more rare to follow a group of colonial soldiers. Worth watching if you are a fan of the genre.
