Landon J @Minxsykitty 4h Really really loses steam at about 3/4. Pretty fun and has an interesting premise, but isn't compelling towards the end. I'd still see it though, just keep expectations in check. Kinda like the cross between a chicken wing, and "Catch me if you can". His character Becker is introduced as a street preacher working for "People for the Ethical Treatment of Plants" while he rants about having a tape of ivy screaming. He truly has all the great lines in this, as at one point Becker says, "I hope they have cable. I won't be able to watch regular TV without drugs." With scenes of Matthau dripping whipped cream from his droopy dog face and him sucking the jam out of donuts--it's all the messy comedy he does so well. He is the most beautiful ugly man the screen ever saw. Donna Dixon is often braless in this which made me wonder how many great scientists of the psychiatric arts were consulted to create this very serious role. Good thing she married her leading man (and mental patient). Chevy Chase makes a brief cameo in an ad for "Mentor Condoms" which is funny yet oddly placed in a scene where other dialogue is occurring and it all audibly clashes, probably like his time on SNL...and Community...
