Coraline tells the story of a curious girl who discovers a hidden parallel world that seems perfect but hides a dangerous secret. The main cast includes Dakota Fanning as Coraline Jones and Teri Hatcher as Mel Jones and the Other Mother. The movie is mysterious, brave, curious, dark, creepy, magical, dangerous, and imaginative. I recommend this movie because it is very beautiful, with amazing animation and a creative story.

Coraline is a great movie, though sometimes the story can underestimate the audience a bit. Even so, every single detail is beautiful, and it has definitely become a true classic. It’s a great movie to introduce you to the world of stop-motion, and one of the best ever made.

Coraline is an exercise in spectacle for spectacle’s sake. Visually it’s a brilliant showcase of a difficult animation medium. Story-wise though it’s just mediocre. It’s not bad per say, the sort of thing that will appeal to children, particularly those that like darker stories, but is ultimately shallow enough that I found myself bored more often than not.

Possibly Laika’s prettiest film to date. Bravo to them for bringing us a kids film with a not very likable character too. Pretty rare in this world imo. Much different and a lot little darker than I expected. Good stuff!
