Gurinder Chadha’s Dickens do-over is a typically original perspective on a canonical classic, if let down by its stretched production values and unlikable songs. But it aims only to be a crowd-pleaser, and may yet become one.

This is completely the wrong way to do this. It's a horrible way to trash British culture. There is a way of doing things. Did you know there is an Indian version of 'Oliver Twist'? Starring Naseerudin Shah (some of you movie buffs may know) as Shylock. Yes the story is borrowed, transposed to an Indian setting and done the right way. Chadha should've made the story in India with an Indian production and set it at Diwali time instead.

This was just embarrassing. Forced, badly staged, the actors were dull and ugly. The music was all wrong. The kid who was sick should not have been on a film set. Hasn't the director noticed that we don't all live in Notting Hill. I hated the scenes at the end where the filmmakers are all so pleased with themselves, maybe they are laughing their way to the bank. Unlike the rest of the country.

I think this is a pretty good movie! I loved that it was an Indian Bollywood-style Scrooge. The music the dancing., And OMG, Billy Porter!! Boy George! Eva Longoriaa and her fabulous makeup!!! I thought the whole thing was fun and enjoyable, I don't get all the nay sayers.

Bah Humbug! Christmas Karma Misses the Mark "Christmas Karma" is a major letdown. Despite its strong cast, the acting is shockingly poor, and the attempt to modernize Scrooge falls flat with a nonsensical storyline. It lacks a true Christmas feel, and the musical numbers are jarring, with noticeable lip-sync issues. We left halfway through, completely disappointed. Save your time and money – this isn't the festive film you're looking for.
