Bullied as a teen for being overweight, Bob Stone shows up to his high school reunion looking fit and muscular. While there, he finds Calvin Joyner, a fast-talking accountant who misses his glory days as a popular athlete. Stone is now a lethal CIA agent who needs Calvin's number skills to help him save the compromised U.S. spy satellite system. The artist formerly known as The Rock has long since proven that he has more natural acting chops than any other former muscleman-turned-thespian (sorry, Arnie), and he's absolutely riotous here.

Better than it has any right to be. Look, don't get me wrong, the plot is dumb as a bag of rocks. Not much makes sense. The ending is not good. For a world ending spy thriller, the film majorly pulls its punches with PG violence - which is fine for the kids. And Hart and Johnson each have ONE character they can play, and they play it here... pretty darn well. Their chemistry is great, there are some hilarious scenes. Don't think too much and you will have a blast.

I normally find the rock repulsive in movies, but him and Kevin Hart have a wonderful chemistry that makes this movie feel real and awesome. It’s like Don Rickles and Frank Sinatra if they were both lame 2010’s comedy actors. 3.5/5 stars.

Central Intelligence is a fun and light action-comedy that relies heavily on the chemistry between Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart. The story follows a former bullied kid who grows up to become a CIA agent and reconnects with a former classmate who now lives a very normal life. Together they get dragged into an international espionage mess. The plot itself is pretty simple and predictable, but the movie works because of the humor and the contrast between the two leads. Johnson plays against his usual tough-guy image with a surprisingly goofy and awkward character, while Hart delivers his typical fast-talking comedic energy. The action scenes are solid and the tone stays playful throughout. It’s not a deep or groundbreaking film, but it’s entertaining and easy to watch if you’re looking for a comedy with some action.
