Theo J @RT44151379 7h The movie has a good story. Good characters. But too much going on in the Flim. What they should’ve done was restart the entire film. And make it so that Finn missile doesn’t ask Mater to do the work. Actually instead Finn should have just asked the sheriff. Because then lightning, McQueen could’ve won the piston cup or not the piston cup, but the Grand Prix cup. Instead of chasing mater. Because that was really unnecessary for lightning McQueen to skip his race. Worth watching but needs work. For starters, the movies are called Cars, not Racing. To me, that just means the movie is about sentient cars, so if they want to make a racing movie, they can. If they want to make a complex spy thriller with a racing subplot, they can. I also have to applaud them for doing something that I don’t think they get enough credit or recognition for. They took the comedic relief character from the first film, and made him the main protagonist of the sequel, yet this movie still feels more mature than the first. Secret agents, car racism, a high (auto) body count, and more gun violence than many movies considered “more mature” than this “kids movie.” I seriously have no idea how this movie got a G rating. If this movie released today it’d be PG for sure! But the shift towards a spy comedy focus and Mater taking center stage won't work for everyone.
