What a deliberately cringe-worthy film. It's sort of wonderfully creepy in that way. Go to Full Review

It's the kind of roughness that to an extent works because of Call Me Brother's punchy fearlessness, and at the end of the day you're either in on the joke or not. Go to Full Review

The story and script are brilliant in how well it manages our emotions of confusion and disgust. It feeds these emotions little by little as if coaxing us into a trap. Go to Full Review
Hasitha Fernando Flickering Myth 11/16/2020
Call Me Brother maybe a bit rough around the edges but it does a great job at tackling a taboo subject with taste and humor, whilst delivering a thoroughly enjoyable coming-of-age drama. Go to Full Review

Brother manages to be raunchy and tasteless in a fairly amusing way that recalls the deadpan Americana absurdism of Napoleon Dynamite. Go to Full Review

Can't decide if it wants to be funny or disturbing, often electing to be both at the same time, which isn't a good idea for such a thinly conceived endeavor. Go to Full Review

05/14/2022 Awe struck by the tender chemistry of the leads. Beautiful, fun and engaging from beginning to end. This is the first review I've ever felt compelled to write. I wanted the cast and crew to know how great this film is. I wish that we could filter out cynics when reading reviews. See more 11/21/2020 A unsettling premise with a surprising amount of heart! Smart direction with strong lead performances create a quirky environment that leads you down a very odd rabbit hole. Definitely a good movie to watch with a group of friends! See more 11/19/2020 So bad. Unwatchable. Painfully unfunny. Complete waste of time. I wish I was being hyperbolic. See more 11/18/2020 Hilarious heartfelt movie. It's amazing given the subject matter how much you're rooting for the main characters by the end of the film. See more 11/17/2020 Some of you uptight folk haven't the capacity to appreciate the genius of that Solondz-style comfortable discomfort and it shows. Have a dumb giggle in some calming absurdity and go give your sibling a big ol' kiss for me. 😘❤ See more 11/17/2020 This was the greatest, most impactful, most epic, most compelling, and most moisture-inducing movie that I have EVER seen. My God. I was just thinking to myself recently that I wish someone would make a film that gave the essence of Jesus and the power of the devil, without all the religion or judgement, but WITH the comfort of death AND the passion of siblings. Welp, ya'll did it. BRAVO. This thrill-ride straight f'd up my psyche in the best way. It also cured my epilepsy. Would view again. Will buy the VHS. Thank you for making my year!
