What makes this film special is how authentic it feels. Nothing is sugarcoated, but it never loses its corazón. The family dynamics, the struggles, the culture, it all rings true. As a Boricua, it felt like home. For once, we feel seen on the big screen. Elaine Del Valle’s writing and direction are powerful, and the performances bring so much depth.
