The Brothers Grimm, Wilhelm and Jacob, are dysfunctional schemers who go from town to town putting on shows that convince inhabitants they are getting rid of demons. After one such scam, a mysterious man called Cavaldi brings them to a French general, who persuades them to battle the evil that has kidnapped 10 girls from a small village. During the investigation, the cynical Wilhelm and sensitive Jacob see things that point to real magic at work.

tries to mix fantasy, fairy tales, and adventure, but for me it completely failed. The story about the Grimm brothers as traveling con artists fighting supernatural forces sounded interesting, but the plot quickly becomes silly and confusing. The acting often feels exaggerated and unnatural, and some characters are clearly overacting. The dialogue is weak and sometimes just plain stupid, which makes the whole film hard to take seriously. On top of that, the CGI looks very dated and cheap, which hurts a fantasy movie that relies so much on visual effects. The only highlight for me was Monica Bellucci as the Mirror Queen. She has a strong presence and was enjoyable to watch, even though she appears only briefly. Overall, the movie is messy, boring in many parts, and never really becomes engaging.

I wish I could say there was something saving about this film, but I cannot. The script is awful, the entire acting from everyone is very wooden. The stories the brothers grim wrote interaction show no connection at all with the film. I think it's time Terry retired if this is all he can produce nowadays. Worst film seen all year, thank goodness it was free

I feel so sorry for Heath Ledger and Matt Damon for having this travesty on their filmographies lol. It is bizarrely bad. Not as bad as War Of The Worlds, but I do feel like I wasted my time.
