Annie (Kristen Wiig) is a single woman whose own life is a mess, but when she learns that her lifelong best friend, Lillian (Maya Rudolph), is engaged, she has no choice but to serve as the maid of honor. Though lovelorn and almost penniless, Annie, nevertheless, winds her way through the strange and expensive rituals associated with her job as the bride's go-to gal. Determined to make things perfect, she gamely leads Lillian and the other bridesmaids down the wild road to the wedding.

Sure, it neatly avoids a lot of the fluff found in many chick flicks and replaces it with crass shenanigans, but it adds touching moments when they're needed most, providing for a smart, less clichéd comedy.

Every lady who has ever been a bride, a bridesmaid, or a maid of honor should see this. You will either laugh at the moments that remind of your own wedding party or laugh thankfully that none of these characters were anyone of you or someone else.

From the pacing to the unlikable lead, this movie is just odd. The main character just makes poor choice after poor choice and then gets mad at people that have their lives together...honestly just a weird two hours that felt like a mash up of two or three ideas

Bridesmaids is what happens when a romantic comedy stops pretending everyone has their life together and lets the chaos walk in wearing a bridesmaid dress. It’s gloriously awkward, brutally funny, and packed with characters who feel like real people making hilariously questionable decisions. With unforgettable laughs, sharp observations, and a huge heart underneath all the madness, it proves that friendship can survive anything...even dress fittings, disasters, and a bathroom scene nobody will ever forget.
