TheMovieSearch R @TheMovieSearch Jul 17 Boo! is a film that completely missed the mark for me and became a horror experience. What should have been a fun supernatural story turned into a movie that felt poorly written, badly executed, and difficult to take seriously. The performances were the biggest weakness, with most of the cast delivering awkward portrayals. The teenage daughter was the only character who felt like she brought real emotion and believable acting to the story. The screenplay never creates suspense, the plot feels scattered, and the movie struggles to develop tension. Even the cinematography, lighting, sound, and presentation felt disappointing. Instead of creating a creepy atmosphere, the film felt unfinished and disconnected. I kept wondering if I was watching a movie or a prank because the execution was poor. Overall, Boo! is a disappointment that wastes its potential and delivers little entertainment value. Aside from one performance, nothing works. This is a horror film I would not recommend. See more Felina @RT25072683 06/17/2023 This movie had a lot of potential to be a really great movie. I liked to idea and concept of, if you don't follow through, your past will haunt you. My problems with this movie though are, there is very little to almost no character development and you're left with so many questions at the end. It started to get better and kind of make sense towards the end until all of a sudden it didn't. I exact words at the end were, "Wait, what?" Again, I really liked the concept. I feel like they should remake this movie and this time build up the characters more and their background and explain the curse and the curse's history more.
