Clyde Mortimer is a broke stressed-out funeral director on the edge of ruin in an economically depressed small town. It's the end of the pandemic and there were no funerals or visitations allowed for the longest time. And now, nobody has died in town for months. His introverted anarchistic granddaughter, Sam, can't stand her grandparents fighting over finances and she decides to help out the family business by collaborating with fate in a most unusual way. The local police are no match for Sam's criminal sneakiness, and she finds true love on her journey while an unlucky few pay the ultimate price for the Mortimer's return to success. A darkly funny, increasingly unhinged story about family, money, and just how far people will go for the ones they love.
