When an asteroid threatens to collide with Earth, NASA honcho Dan Truman (Billy Bob Thornton) determines the only way to stop it is to drill into its surface and detonate a nuclear bomb. This leads him to renowned driller Harry Stamper (Bruce Willis), who agrees to helm the dangerous space mission provided he can bring along his own hotshot crew. Among them is the cocksure A.J. (Ben Affleck), who Harry thinks isn't good enough for his daughter (Liv Tyler), until the mission proves otherwise.

Armageddon is slam-bang sensory overkill. It's loud. It's heavy-handed. It's melodramatic. It's an explosion of baroque excess that splats on the screen and bludgeons the audience into a collective migraine. It's the best American movie of the year.

not many movies can get me choked up like the scence in this movie when harry stamper says goodbye to his daugtuer grace and he becomes a hero to save mankind this is bruce wills fineset flim of all time It is quite remarkable when a cinematic moment can evoke such a strong emotional response. The farewell scene you described, particularly the poignant goodbye between a father and his daughter, clearly resonated deeply. Such powerful portrayals of human connection can be incredibly moving. It speaks to the skill of the filmmakers and actors involved in creating such a heartfelt experience. We appreciate you sharing your experience with this particular film. These deeply emotional scenes often leave a lasting impression. They remind us of the profound bonds we share. It is a testament to the power of storytelling.

If you want a movie that is utterly terrible it's laughable, this is it. And I do not mean that in a "so bad it's good" way. This movie is terrible. I couldn't stop laughing the entire time. It's so ridiculous and takes itself 100% seriously, when every aspect of it: the plot, characters, dialogue/acting, camera work, etc, is the most disgustingly American White Men Save The World jerk off fest ever. This is a movie that feels like it was written and directed by some white man who's never been told he sucks

To be honest, I don’t how people can any bad things about this movie. We laughed, we cried and we were on edge during several action scenes. The movie starts with a lot of action, and from the middle to the end it keeps the same intensity. I felt real danger at at many moments. If you didn’t feel any of that — or at least get a little teary-eyed — you’re d3ad inside. Amazing movie!!
