Uld F @RT10700606 2d The previous film, *The Dream Warriors*, was truly excellent—a tremendous classic—but from this movie onwards, the saga's intensity, quality, and originality began to decline. See more Romas M @Romas Jul 19 Greetings from Lithuania. "A Nightmare on Elm Street 4: The Dream Master" (1988) isn't as good as previous film was. The main problem with this instalment is in its premise - or lack of it. Fredy is resurrected in a goofy way, and without any explanation. Then there are usual suspects - few teen that you won't care about being stocked by Fredy. It isn't particularly poor film, it has great make up effects, prosthetics - those look amazing (especially on 4K UHD). Directing by Renny Harlin was solid and he made a most of the very average script here. Overall, "The Dream Master" is OK and nothing more. Acting was descent but its the very average script that lowers this movie into lesser tier of this franchise. Very creative and fun action sequences. Alice was a badass. Freddy certainly became more of a clown as the series progressed, but this one still struck a good balance.
