Cognetti’s skill with found footage does him no favors here, as this flick is laden with awful dialogue, worse performances, dumb plotting, and a truly inane ending. Set your horror GPS to a different location. Go to Full Review

‘825 Forest Road’ is full of loose ends and lacks the kind of atmospheric tension a horror film needs to thrive. Go to Full Review

Despite finally appearing to understand how to manipulate found footage for maximum scares, Cognetti falls remarkably short in this latest project from reaching the surprising heights of his last work. Go to Full Review

'825 Forest Road' has great bones. Sadly, it settles for a lesser story than the eerier one that was within its grasp. Go to Full Review

825 Forest Road is a stodgy paranormal thriller that doesn’t boast enough character or intensity to reach the heights of its director’s Hell House LLC movies. Go to Full Review

Claudio C @Claudio666 Jan 13 825 Forest Road (2025) A Bad Movie (12,197 – 12 Jan 2026 – Claudio Carvalho) When the piano teacher Chuck (Joe Falcone) and his wife Maria (Elizabeth Vermilyea) see the huge house shown by the realtor Bonnie (Monica Fleurette) for an affordable price in Ashland Falls, they decide to buy it. Chuck’s sister Isabelle (Kathryn Miller) will live with them after the death of her mother in a car accident where Isabel was the driver. She is under therapy and has joined an university in the town. Soon weird things happen in the house and Chuck learns that the town is haunted by Helen Foster, a woman who died fifty years ago. "825 Forest Road" (2025) is a bad movie with an eerie atmosphere and a reasonable storyline. The plot has a promising beginning, but the rushed and ambiguous conclusion spoil the film. My vote is four. Far from incorporating tired tropes, the film presents its story from different perspectives, all of which add a new dimension of creepiness as the tale unfolds. I like very much the fact that the entire town accepts the reality of the haunting from the get go and that each resident deals with it in their own way…mainly by trying to make sure that the ghost's attention never falls directly on them. In short…I loved it. Watch it and don't read into the negativity. There are worse ways to spend a movie night See more TheMovieSearch R @TheMovieSearch Jan 1 825 Forest Road is an okay horror film built around an idea that never fully comes together. The chapter-based structure, meant to show different perspectives, ultimately hurts the flow. Labeling each chapter and revisiting the same scenes makes the movie feel stuck. While shifting viewpoints can work, this film rarely offers new information. Many scenes feel replayed with little variation, coming across less as a creative choice and more like a shortcut. The screenplay feels rough and underdeveloped. The direction isn’t bad, but the editing weakens the experience. The constant back-and-forth disrupts tension and prevents momentum from building. Horror relies on escalation, and this film resets itself. The mystery surrounding the house and road is thin and underexplored, leaving the story hollow. In 2025, audiences expect more ambition. While I wanted to enjoy it, 825 Forest Road feels like a missed opportunity and is hard to recommend overall to most genre fans today sadly now yep. See more Farah R. @Farah Dec 24 A complete waste of time. The story is weak, the acting is terrible, and the entirety of the movie is boring and not scary. Do yourself a favor, and don’t watch it. See more NotPCPattayaComedy @Movierealist Dec 23 What a waste of time. Terrible acting. Boring as hell. Literally nothing good about it. See more Steve Nov 7 It's nice to see us get away from Hell House, which I think the last two installments were weaker than the first 3. I also don't mind rehashing plots from different perspectives, though the film is only halfway successful with it. I I think it's a setup issue where not enough of the perspective switch actually changes how you view what happened in the scenes. If it's not done extremely well, it can feel like I'm watching what could have been a 45-minute movie. Like others, I wasn't quite satisfied with the ending and wish the house played a more prominent role in the 3rd act. If you like haunted house stories and are a fan of Hell House, it's 100% worth a watch. P.S. We still found a way to work a mannequin into the plot. See more Read all reviews
