See more ihate 4 @ihate47metersdown Jul 27, 2026 i hated this movie so much i created an account just to write a bad review on it. the main character "lisa" was so obnoxious i was grinding my teeth as i watched just waiting for the shark to kill her. every slight inconvenience that came her way would have her drop what she was doing and start screaming and wasting oxygen, then she'd spend 20 seconds just staring at how many bars of oxygen she had left and freaking out. she was trying to dislodge her leg by moving rocks? she'd stop and scream. she was pulling a rope? she'd stop and scream. in fact, when they first fell 47 meters down, she started banging on the cage and screaming for help as if that would do them ANY good. the other sister, kate, was doing everything and just acting as a therapist while her sister just freaked out. when they started finally getting lifted, kate was clearly about to drown as lisa just screamed "we're going up! up! omg we're going up! i see us going up! up!" and i was disappointed she didn't die. The characters were unbelievably stupid. Lisa was so whiny that I was surprised she didn't end up suffocating by the amount of useless screaming and pointless hyperventilating she did. "oh no I have almost 0 air left, should I either spend my time getting the tank a few feet away, or should I scream and whine for 30 seconds because of a small cut". By the end of the movie I was hoping that she got torn apart by sharks because of how annoying and infuriating this character was. Anybody who says that there was good acting has the media literacy of a 5 year old. This movie has left me angry at how bad it was, in all my life I have never seen a movie as terrible as this one. The ending was even more horrible, "oh you got saved but are injured, sike you are actually underwater hallucinating, sike you actually got saved ". Make up your mind. See more The W @TheWagners Jul 3, 2026 The main lead actress was very annoying, she would not stop hyperventilating and screaming while the other girl. It felt like this whole movie was one girl trying to be a therapist for the other girl. The last 30 minutes didn't even happen and turned out to be a hallucination. What tops it off as a bad ending is the girl who had no experience and was more likely to die, survived in the end. The cgi on the sharks was absolutely horrendous, apparently there's a sequel. The underwater setting creates a strong sense of claustrophobia, and it often feels like you’re trapped with them, which keeps the tension going. While the concept is engaging, the story is predictable and doesn’t offer much beyond the core premise. Still, the atmosphere and pacing make it watchable even if it never fully rises above average.
