To begin with, I don't know the story of "Casanova," this is the first time I'm watching this film, so I can't criticize the plot. It is entertaining enough through the first 80 minutes that those inaccuracies and even the questionable decision making by Oliver Platt's character - plots shouldn't hinge on people making decisions that are at odds with what little we know about them - can be forgiven. The final 20 minutes see the movie go completely off the rails. The first 80% is worth watching as it features Heath Ledger, some fun dialogue, and has Venice as a backdrop. Rather than rent it, you can find it on Youtube for free. See more Feb 13, 2020 It feels like the creators were afraid to jump in any specific direction, which created a jumbled mess.
