When timid bank clerk Stanley Ipkiss (Jim Carrey) discovers a magical mask containing the spirit of the Norse god Loki, his entire life changes. While wearing the mask, Ipkiss becomes a supernatural playboy exuding charm and confidence which allows him to catch the eye of local nightclub singer Tina Carlyle (Cameron Diaz). Unfortunately, under the mask's influence, Ipkiss also robs a bank, which angers junior crime lord Dorian Tyrell (Peter Greene), whose goons get blamed for the heist.

Given any thought, the morality of the film is, itself, questionable as it tries to let Ipkiss ride off into the sunset with Tina without paying for crimes he is responsible for regardless of whether he did them while wearing the enchanted mask or not.

The Mask is a childhood favorite. I love Jim Carey and his classic comedy. it was a treat to see this in the theatre all these years later.

The mask is a great movie overall. The plot itself is already fun but it’s made much better because Jim Carrey is starring the lead. It’s a fun watch more than anything. I believe it’s something anyone could throw on and have a fun time watching.

It has surprising VFX work and nice camera tracking. There is amazing practical work here. That makeup and everything is just amazing. Jim Carrey is always amazing and I enjoyed this film too. I expected too much laughs but it is a little bit down on that part. But the dialogues and his accent switching and all is just amazing. I really enjoyed it.
