Send Help (2026) Sharai Bohannon The first R-rated Sam Raimi film that many of us get to experience on the big screen gives us everything we expect from this mad genius. His twisted humor, penchant for blood, and trademark sexy camera work are on full display. We love to see it!

Predator: Killer of Killers (2025) Xero Gravity This is what I want for the rest of the franchise- I want the predator to channel surf, and I want to see how all these different communities would send their strongest warriors to mess them up.

Horror Noire: A History of Black Horror (2019) Xero Gravity It's because of [Horror Noire] that I have the tools as a critic to better digest genre cinema and the way that it deals with diversity and inclusion from the very beginning.

Horror Noire: A History of Black Horror (2019) Sharai Bohannon 'Horror Noire' should be required viewing. The doc is the first time we heard these movies discussed outside of overwhelmingly white criticism/gaze. It's validating as a Black horror fan, and it shifted the way many of us look at Blaxploitation cinema.

Bones (2001) Sharai Bohannon 'Bones' is Black Giallo and it's very telling people can't understand the genre when it decenters white characters. It's another movie that is required viewing helmed by Ernest Dickerson.

Final Destination Bloodlines (2025) Sharai Bohannon This is the best installment since the original and I didn't see that coming.

Presence (2024) Sharai Bohannon A really cool concept with so many talented actors. However, that's about as far as it goes.

The Monkey (2025) Sharai Bohannon 'The Monkey' has some beautiful death scenes that benefit from Oz Perkins' disturbing aesthetic. It also has surprise cameos that keep horror kids on their toes.

Longlegs (2024) Xero Gravity "I was connecting dots that I don't think that I should've because of all the added details didn't make much sense in the end"

Animale (2024) Xero Gravity "The brutality in this sub-genre doesn't have to come from the assault, because this film was brutal, but it doesn't spoon-feed it to you"

The Deliverance (2024) Sharai Bohannon Great performances cannot hide how bad this movie is. The script and direction never earns the acting talent at the movie's disposal.

The Front Room (2024) Sharai Bohannon The Front Room is an m-e-double s and that makes me sad because I was so excited to see Brandy back in the genre.

Strange Darling (2023) Sharai Bohannon Strange Darling is pure cinema. A smart script that understands how to use its non-linear structure to reveal its twists and turns. The film is also a feast for the eyes, elevated by stellar performances.

Alien: Romulus (2024) Sharai Bohannon This is one of the better sequels in the franchise but is not without some glaring issues. David Jonsson churns out a fantastic performance that makes what he was given even more frustrating.

Longlegs (2024) Sharai Bohannon Longlegs is aesthetically pleasing and has a promising first act. However, amazing direction and stellar performances can't save it from itself.

Imaginary (2024) Sharai Bohannon There was a severe lack of imagination on display here.

Immaculate (2024) Sharai Bohannon The third act tries to save it, but overall Immaculate is just a ton of wasted potential. Sydney Sweeney's efforts to get the movie made is a more engaging story than the finished project.

Night Swim (2024) Sharai Bohannon There are a lot of missed opportunities that led to laughter for the wrong reasons. This movie has so much untapped potential, and it is a shame it ended up a messy puddle.

Nope (2022) Sharai Bohannon I love all of Jordan's movies so far, but this one might be my favorite just because there's so much to unpack. Every time I think about it I find more things that I need to talk about and it's the gift that keeps giving.

Evil Dead Rise (2023) Sharai Bohannon It did a thing that a lot of franchises that get rezooted don't get to do. Which is have fun while also nodding to the past. Because a lot of them get stuck nodding.
